COLUMBIA, Tenn. - A man charged with robbing, beating up a man, and leaving him to die near a local bar will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Christopher Hooten was convicted Thursday in connection the 2010 death of Harold Wayne Clemons in Columbia.
Clemons was found lying on the ground unresponsive outside the Wayside Inn on Depot Street. He died a few days later.
Hooten is the second person to be convicted in the case. Marvin Kelley was convicted on murder and robbery charges back in September.
Hooten was also convicted on charges of evidence tampering in the case.
