MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Dogs that were found last month crammed inside of a U-Haul truck in West Tennessee are on their way to new homes and a new life in Florida.
FedEx transported 47 rescued dogs from Memphis to South Florida where they will be adopted into happy homes.
"It's Dade County, Broward County and Palm Beach that have the foster homes all set up. From what I understand, we've got people that are all ready to adopt these guys. So I'm thinking they're not going to be sitting very long and they're going to go into their ‘forever' homes," said Tracy Reis from the American Humane Association.
The dogs were among the 130 that were found crammed in the back of a U-Haul in Fayette County last month.
Since then, animal shelters and rescue groups from all over the country have been offering to take in the remaining dogs.
