CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Governor Bill Haslam toured the new Amazon facility in Chattanooga as officials touted the online retailer's footprint in Tennessee that will include five facilities across the state.
Haslam took his first look at the 1 million-square-foot facility on Thursday, which currently employs 1,700 people. Amazon also employs 400 people in Bradley County and plans to build in Rutherford and Wilson counties.
Paul Misener, Amazon's director of global public policy, said they refer to the site as "Chattanooga One," and hinted at further growth in Hamilton County, the Times Free Press reported
Misener said once all five centers are built and staffed, Amazon will have a $350 million investment in Tennessee and employ 3,500 full-time workers.
