NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A loaded gun was discovered in a passenger's carry-on bag at the Nashville International Airport on Thursday.
The Transportation Security Administration discovered .357 Magnum around 5:45 p.m. Airport police took possession of the bag and cited the passenger.
Firearms may be transported in checked baggage if they are declared to the airline, in a proper carrying case, and unloaded.
It was the fourth firearm discovered at the Nashville airport so far this year. Approximately 40 firearms were discovered by TSA at the Nashville checkpoint in 2011.
