Bobby Stanley GeorgeNASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Davidson County man was convicted on Friday morning in an attempted kidnapping.
A jury found that Bobby Stanley George tried to abduct a 8-year old and his brother at a Hermitage restaurant in 2009.
Witnesses testified that George showed the children money and told them to get in. But when the boys walked away, George got out of his car and grabbed one of them by the arm.
The children got away and ran inside the restaurant to tell their parents. Police arrested George about half a mile from the restaurant after employees got his license plate number.
In addition to being convicted of attempt to commit aggravated kidnapping, George was also convicted of DUI fourth offense or more.
He will be sentenced on March 2. He also has a pending charge of failure to appear, when he failed to show up when his trial had been previously set.
