Community Honors Deputy Killed 30 Years Ago

Posted: Updated:

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn.- A community has come together to honor the sacrifice of a deputy killed in the line duty 30 years ago. Cheatham County Sheriff's Deputy Frank Jordan was shot and killed while investigating a robbery at the P&K Drug Store back in 1982.

Since then, friends, family and fellow officers have kept Jordan's memory alive. Saturday, Pegram City Hall lowered its flag before a police convoy drove to the cemetery to lay flowers on Jordan's grave site.

Ashland City Police Chief Mark Coulon, who came to Jordan's aid many years ago believes what happened highlights the risk deputies take every day.

"Whether it's a theft or whether it's a domestic violence, or anything. Anything can happen at any time, and I think the public needs to be reminded of that," said Coulon.

Jordan's family feels justice wasn't served, even though his killer was sentenced to life in prison.
