Somalia, December 1992
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville's Air National Guard has made some notable
changes. One of which is the elimination of six C-130 cargo planes.
It's the same aircraft NewsChannel 5 flew with during the 118th Air Wing's
relief missions to Somalia in 1992.
Another change is the addition of new intelligence, cyber-warfare and
unmanned vehicle squadrons.
"It continues to recognize the important role that the Tennessee Air
National Guard plays in providing security for our nation," said Senator
Bob Corker, speaking on the Tennessee Air National Guard.
Those C-130 aircrafts are now headed to Puerto Rico where they will replace
other planes that are being retired.
