SMYRNA, Tenn. – Investigators had to search for a stabbing victim with a helicopter overnight.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said they were called to the Sam Ridley Parkway area around midnight. When they arrived, the man took off into a wooded area.

Highway Patrol sent a helicopter to search for him, and located him around 2 a.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital but his condition was unknown.

There was no word on suspects or what led to the stabbing.
