EAGLEVILLE, Tenn. - Six people were injured, two critically, in a head-on collision in Rutherford County Thursday evening.
Police said the wreck happened just after 9 p.m. on Highway 41A at State Highway 99 near Eagleville High School. Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that a Chevrolet Silverado drove into oncoming traffic and hit a Chevrolet Tahoe head-on.
Two people inside the Silverado were taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center. 59-year-old Stanley Harris and 47-year-old Janet Rusgrove remain in critical condition. Investigators said they were not wearing their seatbelts.
The four people in the Tahoe were also injured, including 39-year-old Linette Womble, 29-year old Lindsey Mclean, 12-year-old Owen Womble and 7-year-old Reece Mclean. They were taken to Middle Tennessee Medical Center, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The THP is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash. Charges were pending.
