MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- Police in Murfreesboro are searching for a man they said robbed a jewelry store Friday.

Officials said the man walked into the store on Northwest Broad Street just before 1 p.m. and stole an undetermined amount of jewelry. The man was armed with a knife at the time of the robbery and fled the scene on foot.

K9 Officers were called out to the store and were able to track the suspect's scent to the nearby Stones River, where it was lost.

Police described the suspect as a heavy set man, wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, and a black mask.
