LAVERGNE, Tenn.- Police in La Vergne have uncovered $100,000 worth of tools and heavy equipment they believe was stolen from Metro Nashville and a private company.
Police found the equipment hidden behind an abandoned home on Old Nashville Highway. Some of materials belonged to wireless tower company SBA Communications, but rest came from the Metro Development and Housing Agency.
All of the equipment has been returned, but investigators have yet to make any arrests in one of the largest theft cases they've seen.
"Other than the high-dollar HVAC units that have been stolen in the Middle Tennessee area this is one of the largest that we've been involved in," said La Vergne Police Chief Mike Walker.
Anyone with information about the theft has been asked to call La Vergne Police or Metro Police, at 74-Crime.
