Woman Charged With Stealing From Bank Deposit Drop

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Police in Clarksville said surveillance cameras caught a woman slipping cash out of a night-drop bag, while making her own deposit.

Laurie Arbaugh has been charged with theft. Police said they launched an investigation when a local bank contacted a business saying they'd found a deposit bag in the night drop with a deposit slip and envelope but no cash.

Investigators checked the surveillance video, and say they saw Arbaugh take the bag out of the bank's night deposit box, mess with it, then put it back in with her own deposit.

Arbaugh was taken to the Montgomery County Jail where she was held pending a $5,000 bond.
