ALTAMONT, Tenn.- Two children are dead after a go-cart accident in Grundy County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a car hit two children on a go-cart Saturday morning on Northcutts Cove Road near Altamont.
An 11-year-old and 4-year-old were on the go-cart. The 4-year-old died on the scene. The 11-year-old driver was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga in critical condition where he later died.
According the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, the go-cart was traveling down a hill behind their home on Northcutts Cove Road. The go-cart went into the road and into the path of a car. The car hit the go-cart on the driver's side. The force from the collision threw the go-cart into the air approximately 100 feet.
