NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Nashville
Mayor Karl Dean is on a mission to make Music City a healthier place, and now he's adding an
educational twist to his monthly walks.
Saturday, the mayor was
joined by Vanderbilt professor, Dr. Molly Miller at Percy Warner Park. She was
there because Saturday's theme was Geology, which happens to be her specialty.
She and the mayor led the
group two miles along Mossy Ridge trail taking a closer look at the ground.
"In my effort to satisfy
my science requirement in college, I took geology. It's always interested me. I
really have no expertise at all in the area, but I find thinking about how the
Earth was formed and what we can learn just from looking at rocks and different
formations fascinating," said Mayor Dean.
Upcoming walks include an
Archaeology walk and a Spring Flower walk.
