Fire Destroys East Nashville Home Sunday

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Candles most likely caused a fire that destroyed a home in East Nashville Sunday.

Officials say the fire broke out in a home on Gatewood Avenue early Sunday morning. Investigators say there was no electricity in the home, and they were burning candles when the fire started.

A neighbor first saw the fire and rushed in to save the people inside. Medics took a man to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Two firefighters were also treated for minor burns.
