NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A young woman was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting in west Nashville early Monday morning.
Neighbors on Illinois Avenue were woken up by gunshots around 1:30 a.m. Police said the homeowner saw someone breaking into his car in front of the home. When he opened the door, police said someone opened fire. The man's 19-year-old wife was hit in the leg.
She was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
A neighbor reported seeing a mysterious dark colored Honda with tinted windows go by shortly after they heard several gunshots.
"I was a little bit scared; I just want to know what's going on really. If it's this close, this loud, I'd rather be sleeping the rest of the night, that's for sure," said neighbor Shane Hamilton.
