
MIAMI, Ohio (AP) - Robert Covington scored 14 points to lead Tennessee State, and the Tigers went on a 15-7 run in the final four minutes to seal a 68-61 comeback win against Miami (Ohio) on Sunday.
Jordan Cyphers got half of his 10 points in the game on late back-to-back Tennessee State possessions, draining a 3 and slamming home a dunk to help start the game-winning spree in the Bracket Busters matchup. Covington sealed it with two foul shots and a layup in the final 50 seconds.
Tennessee State overcame a nine-point deficit at intermission, outscoring Miami 42-26 in the second half.
Patrick Miller and Kellen Thornton chipped in 12 points each for the Tigers (19-10), who have won nine straight. That includes a win on Feb. 9th at No. 16 Murray State, who the Tigers host in their season finale on Thursday.
Julian Mavunga had 15 points for the Redhawks (8-17).
