Murfreesboro Police Report Spike In Counterfeit Bills

Posted: Updated:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Police in Murfreesboro said they have seen a spike in counterfeit bills.

Police said they saw several bogus bills passed within the past 48 hours, including several $10 bills past at the Walmart on Old Fort Parkway.

The bills range in denomination, some $10, $20 and some $100 dollar bills.

Detectives said most of the bills are poor copies of the real thing, so most people should be able to tell the difference.

If you come across one, police said to take note of the person who passed it and call them immediately.
