NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have arrested two men after a murder-for-hire plot was foiled.
Police arrested Justin Dwight Jones and Ricardo Wiggins over the weekend. Police said they had intercepted communications between Jones and Wiggins, of Bolivar, Tennessee, on February 16 that ordered the hit on Darrius Fain.
An affidavit said that Jones had wanted to kill Fain for a number of months, but had only recently learned of his specific location. The court documents stated that Wiggins accepted Jones' offer of "a sum of money" to kill Fain and Jones then wired the money to Wiggins.
Upon receipt of the funds, Wiggins told Jones that he would "ride a bus to Nashville" on Friday morning to kill Fain.
No motive for the hit was named.
Both Jones and Wiggins were charged with conspiracy to commit criminal homicide. Jones was held on $500,000 bond, while Wiggins was held on $250,000 bond. Both were due in court later this week.
