WHITE HOUSE, Tenn.- Robertson County Schools have appealed in a school bullying case that left an autistic teen partially blind.
In May 2006 when Jacob Gentry was in the 7th grade, his teacher left students alone in the classroom. Court documents explained that a student in the class hit Jacob in the eye with a textbook. The incident left Jacob legally blind.
In December 2011, the school system was ordered to pay the Gentry family $300,000, the maximum allowed under state law. The school district has appealed the ruling.
