Music City Bowl Brings Big Bucks To Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Nashville's local economy got a significant boom thanks to the Music City Bowl this year. New numbers released Tuesday showed that the game brought in $22.2 million impact to the area.

This year's game put the bowl over the 200 million dollar mark in total economic impact since its inception.

There were 55,208 fans in attendance at the Dec. 30 game between Mississippi State University and Wake Forest University. A total of 25,805 hotel room nights were booked with 36,989 out-of-town visitors attending the Bowl.

"The 2011 bowl game was another economic home run for Nashville," said Brad Lampley, Bowl chairman.
