Posted: Updated:

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - East Tennessee State University officials are investigating the robbery of two students in a campus apartment.

University spokesman Joe Smith said campus police received a panic alarm shortly before 10 p.m. EST Tuesday and found students had been bound and robbed in their apartment at Buccaneer Ridge, according to The Johnson City Press.

The victims said three men broke into the apartment brandishing pistols, tied them up and stole debit and credit cards and a laptop computer.

The students were able to untie themselves and reach a panic alarm. The university sent an alert to students and staff shortly thereafter.
