GALLATIN, Tenn.- A 66-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, charged with attempted murder after stabbing a man inside a Gallatin restaurant Tuesday night.

Police have arrested 66-year-old Jerry Dixon. Gallatin Police said Dixon and another man, Ricky Troutt, got into a fight inside the Longhorn Steakhouse on Nashville Pike Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. Officials said Dixon slashed Troutt several times after an argument.

Troutt had to be taken by emergency medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He underwent surgery Wednesday morning and was in stable condition. After the fight, Dixon was also transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center for treatment of his wounds.

Police said that Dixon and Troutt were former business partners, whose relationship dissolved several years ago resulting in a court ordered settlement.

Dixon was charged with attempted second degree murder. Officials said the investigation into this incident was ongoing and more charges could be filed.
