Gallatin Crash Kills Two, Forces Road Closure Overnight

Posted: Updated:

GALATIN, Tenn. - Two people were killed in a wreck that forced the closure of Long Hollow Pike in Sumner County overnight.

Police said two men were driving in truck eastbound on Long Hollow Pike in Gallatin Friday just after 11 p.m. when the driver lost control near Barry Avenue.

The truck then slammed into a tree and overturned. Both men were thrown from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.

32-year-old Christopher Christian and 31-year-old Shannon Collier were killed.

Officers on the scene said speed was a factor in the crash, but they were still working to determine if alcohol also involved.

The road was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
