NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Predators forward Alexander Radulov is on his way to Nashville, fueling speculation that he could be headed back to the NHL.

Radulov tweeted on Tuesday morning that he was on a plane headed to New York and then Nashville.

Radulov was still under contract when he left the team in 2008 to play in Russia. He is coming back to fulfill those obligations, and he could actually be in uniform as early as Thursday when the team travels to Pittsburgh.

On Monday, general manager David Poile issued a statement on Radulov.

"We have been in contact with Jay Grossman, Alexander's agent, throughout this process of trying to return Alexander to the Predators and the NHL," Poile said. "Though the complicated process has yet to be concluded, every indication is that Alexander will be returning to Nashville in the near future.

"We do not anticipate having any further update on this process until (Tuesday), at the earliest."

The Predators will host Edmonton on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
