NASHVLLE, Tenn. – Two people were injured in a house fire in east Nashville early Monday morning.
The fire broke out around 3:15 a.m. at a home on Skyview Drive. Family members said nine people were at the home following a birthday party.
Once firefighters got on the scene, everyone was out of the house but flames were shooting from the roof.
Two people had to jump out of a second story window to escape. One woman was forced to run down a staircase, and suffered second and third degree burns on her feet and arms. She was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
A second victim suffered second degree burns on their arms, but he was treated on the scene.
The fire was put out quickly, but the second story of the home suffered serious damage. Three people actually live inside the home, and it's believed some of the things inside the home can be salvaged.
The fire marshal will determine what started the fire.
