MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A hometown country star was honored Tuesday night for an incredible milestone.
Murfreesboro's own Chris Young celebrated his fifth straight number one.
Young co-wrote the hit-single "You" with an artist familiar with Tennessee, MTSU grad Luke Laird.
And the two couldn't be more proud to be number one.
"This is one-- our first co-write, and two-- one of the first co-writes I've done where we didn't really have a chorus, we didn't really have a title we were writing to. We just started at the beginning and we were like well if it doesn't work itself out by the end of the chorus, I guess we start over," Young said.
Chris is up for two ACM Awards this year.
The ACM Award show will air on NewsChannel 5 on Sunday, April 1.
