PINCKNEYVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A Clarksville man is accused of causing a chain-reaction crash in southern Illinois that killed a woman and injured nine other people.

Perry County prosecutors have charged 43-year-old Thomas Harris of Clarksville, Tennessee, with reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence and 14 other counts.

Illinois State Police said Harris was driving on U.S. 51 near Tamaroa on Sunday when he struck a van. Harris' truck then spun into a group of motorcycles, killing 56-year-old bike passenger Arlene Hackworth of Pinckneyville.

Prosecutors said Harris' driver's license was suspended before the wreck because of a previous DUI charge.

Harris couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday. He has an unlisted home telephone number, and it isn't clear whether he has an attorney.

He was scheduled to appear in court on April 30.
