Police: Landlord Shot Tenant During Dispute

WHITE BLUFF, Tenn. – A landlord was arrested after allegedly shooting his tenant during a dispute in Dickson County.

David Allen Clark, 64, was charged with attempted second degree murder.

Police were originally called to Clark's home on Old Charlotte Road in White Bluff around 9:09 p.m. Wednesday in reference to Clark threatening his tenant, who lived in the basement. Minutes later, police received a call about a shooting at the location.

When officers got on the scene, they found the victim, who was not identified, in the basement with a gunshot wound. He was alert,and told police that Clark had shot him during a dispute.

The victim was treated at the scene, and later taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was last listed in critical, but stable condition.

Police took Clark into custody, and said he admitted to the shooting. The gun used in the shooting was recovered from the scene.

Clark was held on $75,000 bond. He was scheduled to be in court on April 13.

Police were still investigating.
