Westbound I-24 Reopens In La Vergne After Semi Rollover

Posted: Updated:

LA VERGNE, Tenn. – Several westbound lanes of Interstate 24 have reopened in Rutherford County after a semi trailer overturned.

The crash happened Wednesday just before 11:30 a.m. near the Waldron Road exit in La Vergne.

Officials from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the truck lost it's load and spilled onions all over the interstate.

Crews from the Tennessee Department of Transportation were working to clear debris off the roadway.

All lanes of the interstate were closed. Eastbound lanes were also moving slow due to rubbernecking delays.

No one was injured in the crash.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and La Vergne Police Department were directing traffic off the interstate at exit 64.

The scene was not expected to be cleared until 7 p.m.

Drivers have been advised to seek alternate routes.
