WHITLEYVILLE, Tenn. - Police have charged a man in the murder of a man in Macon County over the weekend.

Joseph Lawson, 21, was charged with criminal homicide in the death of 42-year-old Donald Anderson.

Investigators said Lawson had learned of relationship between his girlfriend and Anderson.

He allegedly lured Anderson to his parents' home in Whitleyville where he was waiting armed with a rifle on Saturday. Before his death, Anderson told a THP trooper that Lawson pulled the trigger.

Lawson fled the scene after the shooting, but was located by authorities after a short manhunt in rural Macon and Jackson Counties.

Lawson and his girlfriend had recently had a baby together.
