JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- A Tennessee man has been charged with kidnapping and two counts of murder in the slaying of a pregnant woman at a Mississippi casino hotel.
Authorities say 25-year-old Brandi Nicole Floyd was five- to six-months pregnant when she was killed April 5 with a sharp object at Hollywood Casino's hotel in Tunica County, Miss.
Authorities said Monday that Nathaniel Yates III was charged Saturday after being released from a hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained when he jumped through the glass window of the hotel room.
Floyd and Yates, both from Collierville, Tenn., are believed to have been in a relationship. They checked into the hotel together.
Yates had an initial appearance Monday. His bond was set at $10 million on the murder charges and $10,000 on kidnapping.
