NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A teen who killed a man to impress his friends has been found guilty of 2nd degree murder.
Christian Walters was just 17-years-old when he opened fire on 21-year-old Dontrell McFadden in October of 2009.
Officials said Walters and another person spotted McFadden walking down on Nashboro Boulevard and suspected he was part of a rival gang. Walters and McFadden exchanged gang-related gestures and shouts and Walter fired on McFadden striking him. McFadden ran a distance before collapsing on a nearby golf course.
Walters told police he shot McFadden to improve his rank in his own gang.
The other man in the car, Julian Adams, still has pending murder charges in the case.
