Police Bust Marijuana Grow Operation

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Police in Nashville have busted a large marijuana grow operation inside a home in Antioch.

Police said that after they received a tip from a citizen, officers went to investigate a home at4301 Cambridge Drive in Antioch. Once at the home, officers discovered evidence of marijuana activity.

The resident of the home, 31-year-old Mark Wesley Howarth disclosed to officers an upstairs room in the home that had been outfitted with grow lights, fertilizer and generators. Police said that dried marijuana plants were found wrapped in a tarp inside the room.

Officials said prior to the officer's arrival at the home, Howarth's girlfriend, 29-year-old Stacy Michelle Russell, had taken two bags of marijuana over to a neighbor's house. Officers located the drugs and also discovered packages of marijuana seeds.

Howarth was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana for resale, a crooks with guns violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. Russell was charged with possession of marijuana for resale, a crooks with guns violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Howarth and Russell were released after posting bond.
