Fans Welcome Predators Home After Win In Detroit

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fans of the Nashville Predators welcomed the team home after their big win in Detroit.

The Preds have a 3-1 lead in their playoff series against the Red Wings after their 3-1 win Tuesday night in Motor City. Goalie Pekka Rinne made 40 saves to keep the Red Wings from tying the series.

The team arrived back in Music City after midnight early Wednesday morning, but they didn't come home to an empty airport.

Dozens of fans were waiting for them, cheering them on to the next win towards the Stanley Cup.

"We're here to show our support for this awesome team," said one fan Jimmy Finale. "I work tomorrow; I can sleep when I'm dead."

The Preds only need one more win to advance to the second round. They will get that chance on Friday at 7 p.m. at Bridgestone Arena.
