NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The break in the schedule is giving Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne a little rest. Now his teammates want to give him a chance to catch his breath against the Detroit Red Wings.

The best part of a break before Game 5 on Friday night came Wednesday when both the Red Wings and Predators took the day off to regroup. Thanks to Rinne stopping 35 or more shots in each win, Nashville is up 3-1 in pushing the Red Wings to the brink of elimination in their first-round Western Conference series.

Nashville center David Legwand said Wednesday the 6-foot-5 Rinne has been the difference. Now the Predators want to spend more time on the other end of the ice to keep the Red Wings from peppering their goalie more.
