FORT CAMPBELL, Tenn.- A murder in Tulsa Oklahoma is gaining the attention of Fort Campbell soldiers.

Last month 85-year-old Nancy Strait was raped and then beaten to death during a home invasion. Her husband Bob Strait was also beaten, but survived. Police have one suspect in custody. Strait is a 101st Airborne veteran who served during World War II. Now this family is hoping his fellow Screaming Eagles can help out by putting pressure on Tulsa's Mayor to assign a task force to Strait's case.

Because the beating death happened around the same time as a racially motivated shooting spree, the family believes resources have been tied up.

"Despite the hype of the last case, they have not been forgotten. We are in constant contact with the family, assuring them and the general public, anyone who has a loved one as a victim of crime, we have not forgotten you," said Vic Regalado, Tulsa Police Department.

The 101st Airborne Association is also taking donations for the Strait family.
