NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A child was injured Friday while playing at the new Cumberland Park. Saturday, the park was closed as contractors fix an area that injured a child.
Officials say earlier reports that a section of the climbing wall had collapsed was incorrect. Instead, they say a loose tile on the base of the park's Cloud Bridge came loose hurting a child. A 9-year-old boy had minor injuries to his thumb and was taken to a hospital. Right now contractors are securing every tile, about 125, in the park with mechanical fasteners.
The park will stay closed until work is complete. It just opened last weekend.
