George Jones Forced To Postpone More Tour Dates

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country legend George Jones has been forced to postpone all tour dates through May 20 as he continues to recover from an upper respiratory infection.

A statement said the 80-year-old was feeling much better, but doctors ordered mandatory recovery time and rest at his Franklin home.

His entire Canadian run of the tour will be postponed.

There was no word on when the tour dates would be rescheduled.

Jones was hospitalized for nearly a week earlier this month, and had to postpone some dates then.

On Wednesday, he posted a video to his website, thanking fans as he recovers his sickness. He then accused his daughter, Georgette Lennon, of spreading lies about him on the Internet.

Lennon, 41, said she was "completely devastated" by his message and denies making any negative statements about him. Lennon's mother was country singer Tammy Wynette, who died in 1998.

The Country Music Hall of Fame member is known for dozens of classic hits including "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "White Lightning."
