NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A rock on the interstate caused a serious slowdown on I-40 overnight, blowing out tires on at least seven cars and forcing drivers onto the shoulder.
It all happened in on I-40 west at the Charlotte Avenue exit on Thursday night.
Drivers said there was a giant rock, and they couldn't see danger coming until it was too late.
"What was surprising for me I didn't see the cars on the side of the road. More comforting knowing I wasn't the only one," said driver Chris Hallowell.
The rock was removed. The interstate was open on Friday morning.
