Lawrence Co. Coach Charged With Rape Of Child

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. – A bowling coach at Lawrence County High School has been charged with two counts rape of a child.

Robert Stephen "Bird" Rosson was taken into custody Friday morning on Depot Street in Lawrenceburg.

Investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office began an investigation on April 17 into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor.

Lt. Nathan Neese with the Lawrence County Sheriff Department said the victim that came forward is 22 years old now, but the crimes happened nearly 11 years ago.

He said there is a chance there could be more victims.

Rosson was held Lawrence County Detention Center and is being held under a $250,000 bond. A court date was set for May 14.
