FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) - The ban on U-turns in the city of Franklin is off the books.
A revised ordinance allows drivers to make U-turns as long as they can be done safely and as long as there is not a "No U-turn" sign posted.
The town, off Interstate 65 just south of Nashville, is popular with tourists visiting Civil War sites including the Civil War's Battle of Franklin.
Eric Stuckey, Franklin city administrator, said U-turns can be a viable option for drivers. He said the updated ordinance will be more convenient for them.
