NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A firefighter was injured while fighting a fire at a home in north Nashville overnight.
It broke out around 3 a.m. Wednesday on 14th Avenue North. When fire crews got on the scene, the house was fully involved.
They searched the home, but no one was home. A firefighter suffered burns to his face, and was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The woman who lives in the home had been in the process of moving out, and had been staying with a relative.
She also told NewsChannel 5 that her home had been broken into recently, but she wasn't sure if it was related.
"She's kind of upset right now. So I'm going to take a minute and talk to her and see what she wants to do," said her son Damien Batson.
He said she has mobility issues.
Arson investigators will be on the scene Wednesday morning to determine what started the fire.
