CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested for allegedly attacking a couple inside their home, then taking the woman to a hotel and sexually assaulting her.
Emmonie Dion Branch, 37, was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and rape.
Police were called to a hotel on Holiday Drive around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, after a 25-year-old woman went to the front desk covered in blood and asked for a vacant room.
She asked the clerks to call 911 because she said the man she was with had killed the father of her children, and had threatened to kill everyone there if she didn't get a room.
She was given a room key, left the lobby, and 911 was called.
Officers arrived minutes later, went to the room, knocked, and it was opened by a man in his underwear with blood on his hands. The woman was found inside the room partially clothed and crying. Police found a gun on the dresser inside the room.
The man, later identified as Branch, was detained. The woman was taken to the hospital, and officers went to a home off Needmore Road. The woman's husband was found alive, but with a serious injury to his face.
The investigation found that Branch had been at the couple's house to hang out with them. Branch allegedly got into a fight with the woman's husband and knocked him to the ground. A witness told police that Branch also ran over him with a vehicle.
Branch then allegedly forced the woman to leave the home, saying he would kill the children if she didn't go with him.
The husband was taken to the hospital with head trauma and bleeding on the brain.
Branch was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on $125,000 bond.
