NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Air Force Two has landed at Nashville International Airport, bringing Vice President Joe Biden to Nashville for a fundraiser.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said they were informed that Biden would be attending a fundraiser at a private residence on Monday.
The Vice President landed in Music City around 11:45 a.m.
Biden's arrival had been anticipated through the morning, but the exact time and location of his visit was not released for security reasons.
Several roads will be shut down to let the Vice President's motorcade travel safely. Roads expected to be closed include portions of Interstate 40 near the airport, Interstate 24 near I-440, 440, Interstate 65 South, and Old Hickory Boulevard in Brentwood.
Drivers will likely experience delays, with some roads being closed for the visit, but police expected roads to be re-opened in time for the afternoon commute.
More than 140 Metro police officers will be assisting federal and state officials in the security assignment.
Biden also visited Nashville in July 2010, when he was invited to speak at the Tennessee Democratic Party's Jackson Day Celebration fundraiser at Belmont University's Curb Event Center.
Former Vice President and Tennessean Al Gore introduced Vice President Biden to the crowd. Biden spoke for more than a half hour.
