NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A passenger vehicle slammed through the window front of an art gallery in the Green Hills area.
The crash occurred Monday just before 11 a.m. at the LeQuire Gallery in the Hillsboro Plaza Shopping Center.
Officials said the female driver mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, sending the Honda Civic lunging through the glass and onto the gallery floor.
"Everybody just came out to see what was going on," said the owner of nearby Computer Pros, Josh Boyd. "We rushed to make sure the lady was okay. She was, thankfully."
No one was in the store at the time of the crash. It was not clear if any of the artwork sustained damage.
Cleanup crews immediately started working on replacing the glass and getting the door back in place. One of the owners said she expects to be back open normal hours Tuesday.
