Nursing Home Evacuated Due To Smoke From Fire

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A nursing home in the Hillsboro Village area was evacuated during a fire on Thursday morning.

Smoke was visible from the Belcourt Terrace Nursing Home at 1710 Belcourt Avenue when firefighters got on the scene around 7:15 a.m.

Fire officials said a dryer in the basement caught fire. A sprinkler system was able to extinguish the flames, but smoke filled the building.

A small amount of patients were taken outside in wheelchairs and beds due to the smoke inside the building. They were cleared to go back in just before 8 a.m.

An ambulance was called to the scene, but no one was hurt.
