NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Last
week, country legend and Country Hall of Fame member, Loretta Lynn revealed her
plans to take her life story to Broadway.
"Coal Miner's Daughter" was
a huge hit song, as well as the title of the 1980 film about her life, starring
Sissy Spacek. Lynn unveiled plans for a musical adaptation of Coal Miner's Daughter during a Grand Ole
Opry show at the Ryman Auditorium.
Lynn has picked the
actress Zooey Deschanel to star in the musical. Lynn pulled the actress on
stage with her at the Ryman on Thursday.
Sunday, NewsChannel 5
caught up with actress Sissy Spacek and asked her what she thought of Lynn's
pick.
"It's wonderful. I
had the great honor of riding Loretta's coat tail into Nashville, and there's
no greater way to do that. And I just hope that Zooey enjoys the ride because
it's spectacular," said Spacek.
Spacek was in town
promoting her memoirs called "My Extraordinary Ordinary Life."
