FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Police in Franklin are searching for a man who allegedly failed to return two rental cars.

Michael Rocky Marks, 31, rented two Toyota Camrys from Hertz car rental store on Murfreesboro Road in March. Police said neither vehicle was returned.

"We actually happened to locate one of them through another source. The other one, with him, is still at large," Sgt. Charlie Warner explained.

For two months detectives have not been able to catch up with Marks, but they have heard from him.

"The suspect in this case is running from us, he knows that he's wanted. He's communicated with us personally and through an attorney," Warner said.

Marks' last known address was in Murfreesboro. The address comes back to a psychic reading shop on NW Broad Street.

When NewsChannel 5 went to the shop, a woman who answered the door said she had never heard of Marks.

"I'm trying to find Michael Marks. I'm from NewsChannel 5. Is he available," a reporter asked.

"No, I don't know where he is," said the woman who answered the door.

"So you know him," the reporter asked.

"I know him? No," the woman replied.

"You don't know him, because he lists his address and this address here, on his license," said the reporter.

NewsChannel 5 also contacted attorney Jack Mitchell in Murfreesboro who represents Marks. He did not return calls Monday night.

Marks is wanted on two counts of theft over $10,000.

Any information leading to his arrest is worth $1,000 with a call to Crime Stoppers at (615) 794-4000.
