NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Lipscomb University has named Greg Brown head women's basketball coach.

The 41-year-old Brown was associate woman's basketball coach at the University of Central Florida and previously served as an assistant to Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee.

While at UCF, Brown helped lead the Knights to two Conference USA championships in 2009 and 2011, resulting in NCAA tournament berths.

Lipscomb Athletic Director Phillip Hutcheson announced Brown's appointment Wednesday and said the fourth head coach of the university's women's basketball program will be introduced to students Thursday at Allen Arena.

Brown succeeds Frank Bennett, who became associate athletic director after 32 years as Lipscomb's head coach.
